About this policy

PageDiff is a macOS PDF comparison app made by Rappasoft, LLC. This policy covers the current Mac app. Visits to this site are covered separately by the Rappasoft website privacy policy.

PDFs and comparison data

PageDiff reads the two PDFs you choose or drop into the app. It uses their contents and filenames to extract available text, render pages for visual comparison, and run Apple's on-device text recognition when a page has no selectable text. The app does not change your source PDFs or make its own persistent copy of them.

Selected page ranges, rendered previews, extracted text, comparison results, manual page pairs, inspection marks, and review notes are held in the app's memory for the open comparison. PageDiff does not keep a saved comparison library or sync this data. Closing or replacing the comparison discards your review work unless you exported a report.

Network and analytics

PageDiff does not transmit your PDFs, comparison results, or notes to Rappasoft or a third party. It has no PageDiff account, cloud sync, advertising, or analytics service. PDF comparison and text recognition run on your Mac. Rappasoft cannot access your documents or review work through the app.

Reports you export

If you choose Export Report, PageDiff writes a standard, unencrypted PDF to the location you select. It can include the source PDF filenames, comparison summary and warnings, page previews, text differences, inspection marks, and notes you entered. Anyone with access to that report can read its contents. You control where it is stored or shared, and you can delete it as you would any other file. Removing PageDiff does not delete exported reports.

If you select PDFs from, or export a report to, iCloud Drive or another synced folder, that storage provider may copy the files according to your settings and its own privacy terms. PageDiff does not control those copies.

Retention and your choices

To remove in-app comparison data, close the comparison window or quit PageDiff. Delete exported reports from the location where you saved them; PageDiff does not manage those files after export. Your original PDFs remain where you stored them. There is no PageDiff account or server-side comparison history to delete.

Support and questions

If you email us, we receive your address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and troubleshoot, and retain the correspondence as needed for support and business records. You can ask us to delete it, subject to any records we must keep by law. Email providers process messages as part of delivery and storage. Please avoid sending confidential PDFs or reports unless needed. For support, access, or deletion requests, email [email protected].

If you get PageDiff through the Mac App Store, Apple handles downloads, purchases, and any diagnostics you choose to share with Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Rappasoft may see the sales and diagnostic information Apple makes available to developers, but not the PDFs you compare.
